CLACE-4 Project Instruments and Data - Present Weather Sensor

Present Weather Sensor at the Jungfraujoch
The Present Weather Sensor installed at the Jungfraujoch.

Present Weather Sensor logging screen. The present weather sensor detects the presence of cloud and precipitation, and also measures IR extinction coefficient, which is used to calculate meteorological optical range. It also measures the number of precipitation particles and calculates a precipitation rate. The temperature reading from this probe suffers very large variations from radiative heating and cooling.
