EMERALD Project - CPI Data - Region 4

CPI data from region 4 clickable lidar plot

Regions 2 and 4, both have a high proportion of rosettes and columns (which are probably fragments of rosettes in most cases) These regions are downdraft regions, but are very cold at -45 degC, and are supersaturated wrt ice. It is thought that the frozen drops and 'budding rosettes' observed in the updraft regions have grown as they have fallen through the cloud to form the observed rosettes.
