The Whitworth Meteorological Observatory - Air Quality Data

Logo of the University of Bristol Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group

The air quality instrumentation at the Whitworth Observatory currently consists of a Grimm 1.108 dust monitor (counts and sizes aerosol particles between 0.3 and 20 microns in diameter), a Casella ML2010 Ozone Analyser, Thermo 42i TL NOx Analyser, Thermo 43i TL SO2 Analyser and a Thermo 48i TL CO Analyser. The NOx, SO2 and CO analysers were co-funded by the Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group at the University of Bristol. The gas analysers are located in the Simon Building and sample from a height of approximately 15m above street level. The dust monitor is located with the met station on the George Kenyon Building.
